It's true the hot dog is a pretty simple delicacy. But, here in Chicago, like a lot of things, we take it to another level.
And to those saying we throw a salad on a hot dog, and call it "Chicago Style", we hear ya. For many years as a child, I ate my dogs strictly with the verboten ketchup, mustard and pickle. Then I grew up, and learned to eat like an adult 😉.
It makes me wonder if these same folks throw the typical lettuce, onion, tomato, pickle garnish that comes with a cheeseburger back at their server yelling, "I'm not putting no salad on my beef patty!" 🤔
